PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, TEXT STUDY, CLASSROOM PEDAGOGY, NETWORKING AND EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, DISCUSSIONS: WHAT SHOULD A NEW "CAJE" LOOK LIKE?

With these words, G-d charged Avram to take a bold step into an uncertain future. Today, we too, find ourselves in a state of transition. The American Jewish community is facing unprecedented economic and social challenges that confront our educational institutions. In Israel, a new coalition government endeavors to navigate a course of peace with its neighbors.

For four days in August, we invite Jewish educators to join us as we journey “to the land that I will show you.” We will explore this theme through our sacred texts and through sessions dealing with both content and methodology. We will meet to address the many changes and challenges that lie ahead. Our goal is to equip educators with a broader and deeper understanding of transitions; of how to teach, facilitate, and manage them.

Just as G-d did not immediately reveal to Avram the land of his destination, so do we seek out the best practices, the newest paths to accomplish our educational objectives. This time of transition promises to be an exciting and inspiring time. Come, journey with us to a new place in Jewish education.
